Bookings

All bookings are subject to availability. A booking made on tindasel.is is confirmed once your card has been verified (or payment received, if you choose to pay now), and you receive a booking number on screen and by email. Tindasel reserves the right to decline any booking.

Bookings made through a travel agent or an online booking site (such as Booking.com or Expedia) follow the payment and cancellation terms of that booking.

Payment

All prices are in Icelandic krónur (ISK). Amounts shown in other currencies are approximate. We accept major credit and debit cards; online payments are processed securely by Teya, and we never see or store your full card number.

When you book directly on tindasel.is:

• Pay later (standard): no payment is taken for your accommodation at the time of booking. Your card is verified and saved securely, and the accommodation is charged automatically 30 days before arrival. If you book 30 days or less before arrival, the whole stay is paid at the time of booking and is non-refundable.
• Pay now and save 5%: when you book more than 30 days ahead, you may pay for your whole stay at the time of booking and receive 5% off the accommodation. Pay now bookings are non-refundable.
• Experiences, dinners and transfers added to your booking are charged at the time of booking.
• Drinks, meals and other services ordered during your stay are paid at the hotel.

Incidentals

To ensure a smooth stay and to protect the property, Tindasel – The Farm reserves the right to place a pre-authorization hold (security deposit) on the guest's payment card prior to or upon check-in. This is not a charge and no funds are withdrawn from the account unless required.

The security deposit may be used to cover, but is not limited to:

• Damage to rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment, or other hotel property.
• Missing or stolen items.
• Excessive cleaning required beyond normal housekeeping.
• Smoking or vaping inside guest rooms or indoor areas.
• Unpaid restaurant, bar, minibar, or other incidental charges.
• Any other costs arising from a breach of these Terms & Conditions.

Tindasel reserves the right to adjust, reduce, waive, or increase the security deposit requirement based on the reservation, booking channel, length of stay, group size, or other reasonable risk factors.

All guest rooms are inspected by our housekeeping team immediately following check-out. If damage or unpaid incidentals are identified, Tindasel may retain all or part of the security deposit while the matter is assessed. Where necessary, an independent repair specialist may be engaged to determine the cost of repair or replacement.

If the final documented costs are less than the amount held, any remaining balance will be released promptly to the original payment method. If the documented costs exceed the security deposit, the guest remains responsible for the full amount.

By checking in and providing a payment card, the guest authorizes Tindasel – The Farm to process charges for documented damage, missing items, unpaid incidentals, or other amounts owed in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.

Cancellation Policy

Full Buyout: (Exclusive Use of the Property)

Reservations that include exclusive use of the property require advance planning of staffing, dining, and experiences.

• A 50% deposit is required to confirm the booking.
• The remaining balance is due 90 days prior to arrival.

Cancellation Terms:

• More than 90 days prior to arrival: 50% of the total booking value is non-refundable.
• Less than 90 days prior to arrival: 100% of the booking is non-refundable.

*Date changes may be considered more than 90 days prior to arrival, subject to availability.

Accommodation Booked on tindasel.is

• Cancel free of charge until 12:00 noon, 30 days before arrival. Nothing is charged.
• Pay now bookings are non-refundable.
• After this time, the full accommodation amount is non-refundable.
• In the event of a no-show or early departure, the full accommodation amount will be charged.

To cancel or change a booking, write to info@tindasel.is with your booking number. Changes are subject to availability.

Experiences, dinners and transfers added to a booking on tindasel.is are charged at the time of booking and are non-refundable.

Private Services & Tailor-Made Programmes

Private services and tailor-made programmes arranged with us directly (not booked on tindasel.is) require additional coordination with partners and suppliers.

• A 50% deposit is required upon confirmation
• Full payment is due 30 days prior to arrival

Cancellation Terms:

• More than 30 days prior to arrival: deposit is non-refundable
• 14–30 days prior to arrival: 70% of the total booking value is non-refundable
• Less than 14 days prior to arrival: 100% of the booking is non-refundable

Force Majeure

In the event of circumstances beyond our control, such as extreme weather or travel restrictions, bookings may be rescheduled within 12 months, subject to availability. Refunds are not guaranteed.

Activities

All activities are subject to weather conditions and availability. Tindasel reserves the right to substitute activities of equivalent value. Secure your activities in advance — availability is limited.

Guest Responsibilities

Guests are responsible for any damage caused to the property during their stay. Tindasel is a smoke-free and pet-free property. Check-in is from 15:00. Check-out is at 11:00.

Liability

Tindasel is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury sustained during activities or on the property, except where required by law. Guests participate in adventure activities at their own risk.
